Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Tracey Crespo is Chief Operating Officer of WBI, joining the firm in 2011. Mr. Crespo has been an incredible asset to WBI in his tenure. He oversees day-to-day operations of the firm, specializing in the build-out and automation of processes integral to WBI’s intellectual property. With Mr. Crespo at the helm of operations, the firm made headlines in 2014 with their debut of 10 actively manged ETFs, followed by an opening day billion-dollar asset raise.
Bringing extensive operations management experience to WBI, Mr. Crespo worked at SEI, Inc. from 2007 through 2011, holding positions as the Director of Centralized Operations and the Director of Fund Accounting and Hedge Fund Services. At SEI, he led the Investment Operations Group in processing approximately 80,000 trade transactions daily. He designed and implemented centralized processing policies and procedures that resulted in improved accuracy and efficiency of operations. Mr. Crespo also directed the Project Management/Development Group in devising process improvements, automation strategies, and integration plans to support over 280 system users.
Prior to SEI, Mr. Crespo was the Director of Hedge Fund Operations at Balance Asset Management, LLC from 2005 to 2007. From 2001 to 2005, he worked at Caxton Associates, LLC where he was the Assistant Director of Operations. At Caxton, Mr. Crespo built an operations team to accommodate fund expansion from $600 million to $11 billion with 75% of the increase due to growth in returns. He developed and implemented controls, standards, and processes to support 80 traders utilizing diverse strategies including distressed securities, emerging markets, long equity, short equity, and high yield.
Mr. Crespo earned a Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University and a Master of Business Administration from Rider University.
